The sandy beach at Gruinard is a popular beach in the summer months where you can sunbath and swim in the sea which is warmed by the Gulf Stream. To get to the beach involves walking down wooded steps from the small car park. The beach slopes out to deeper water so is a fairly safe place for children to play as long as they are supervised.
The sandy beach also has lots of clams which are delicious cooked. You need to search for them when the tide is going out in at the waters edge.
From the beach you can see Gruinard Island. Gruinard is approximately 25 minutes drive from Camusnagaul.

The sandy beaches at Gruinard are a reasonably short drive from the holiday cottages at Camusnagaul.
The beach is empty for most of the year especially in the out of season period. Picture shows Gruinard Bay beach, wooden steps and car park.
We have enjoyed many days at Gruinard beach, in fact some of our best memories are from this spot in the Scottish Highlands.
